Our History
Dr. Patricia Cooper was a physician who specialized in Family Practice. For many years she cared for patients in a private practice setting and in an urgent care setting, Now Care. Dr. Cooper was a graduate of Seatack elementary school and First Colonial high shcool. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of William and Mary in 1973 and her Doctorate of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1978. Her family practice residency was completed at Wilmington Medical Center. She also was the Director of Emergency Medicine at Norfolk Community Hospital for many years.

Dr. Angela Mercer is a physician who has specialized in Internal Medicine for many years. She has served the community in various capacities over her 35 years of medical practice. She was in private practice with offices in Suffolk and Norfolk and then became the medical director at the Norfolk Community Health Center until her retirement in 2017. Over the years, her hospital practice has included Obici Hospital, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Sentara Leigh Hospital, Lake Taylor Rehab Center and she has served as the medical director of the ICU at Norfolk Community Hospital.
Dr. Mercer was a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth. She earned her undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College in 1973 and her Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia in 1977. She received her residency and fellowship training at Harlem Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital Center, respectively.
